I had the honor this year to host Mother's day get together. My sisters and my mom are the best of people. They're the kind of people you wish there were more of, you know the ones who's heart are made of gold and they never stop giving. The kind who define over achieving and pure awesomeness. Honestly, I could go on and on but there's not enough I can say that would even begin to explain how exemplary these women are.So I really wanted this day to be special for them, because they deserve it. If I could do this everyday for them, I would.
So the first thing I felt I needed to do was pick my main ingredients, theoretically I felt if a picked two or three ingredients I could work the whole menu around that and avoid having to purchase so many different ingredients. This worked well as the plates called for reusing these common ingredients so less is more in this case. I choose Strawberry, Cucumber and Mint. It's Spring time so I wanted something refreshing and was stoked about the availability of summer ingredients at the store already. To not cut these women short of their glory I planned a seven course meal for their arrival! Here's the menu I typed out(I misspelled a few words because it was past my bedtime when I decided to give this a go).
