Not sure if I have mentioned this before, but there's something about the holiday season that makes me go into a baking frenzy! I BAKE and BAKE and BAKE some more. Partly because I feel food brings people together and makes people happy. REALLY REALLY happy! I love nothing more than to bake up sweet traditional holiday delicacies and share it with the closest of kins. Every year since my children were tiny tots, it's been a tradition for me to bake up Jam Thumbprint cookies (which is their favorite and most requested) along with some Gingerbread men and Cherry Shortbread cookies to lay out for Santa on Christmas Eve. Considering Santa is normally Mom or Dad, wouldn't you think they would appreciate more being able to indulge on some fresh homemade cookies that taste just like great grandma makes them after all that holiday shopping stress? Of course!! So here it is! The recipe for Traditional Cherry Shortbread cookies. Enjoy:
My most favorite time of the year is finally here...eek! Something about December makes me
want to indulge in Christmas movies, festivities, seasonal decor, treats, tons of hot chocolate
drinking, flannel blankets, crafts and just plain making wonderful memories with my children( I
could keep going on why I love December, but for your own sake I'll cut it short, lol). One of our all
time favorite Christmas movies is The Polar Express. My kids favorite part of the movie is also the
hot chocolate scene, they will literally get up and dance and sing to the catchy tunes! Because of the
frosty December weather and the excessive hot cocoa drinking (our love for the Polar Express
included) this weeks featured recipe is the best (richest and creamiest) hot chocolate you will ever
have from the Polar Express, so enjoy...
Greeting's, Greeting's! WOW! So the holiday season has come and gone with all the hustle and bustle. I am blessed to say that yes, I managed to get through it all and still have some sanity left to spare. Business has finally gone back to normal and it seems like I have a wee bit more time on my hands now. "So what does one do?" You ask. We make Grinch cookies and hot cocoa and invite the best of friends over for a movie! I love Dr. Suess, who doesn't right? I came across these a few weeks ago and I am here to share with you today this simple recipe, you know just in case you are headed to Whoville soon! Enjoy...
